Mobile phone recycling

Six simple steps to getting phatphones to do your mobile phone recycling.

Working with the right people

Please visit Mobile phone recycle depot and see why it is important that we all do our bit and get recycling our redundant old mobile phones.

Thank you for your current interest with regard to the sale of your surplus mobile phones. Phatphones can offer you peace of mind that your redundant mobile phones will be recycled in the most ethical way possible. Our main aim would be to have the phones tested, repaired and put out into new mobile markets round the globe. You also have full control of where want your money for the phones to go. Many people carry the credit in stock value against future orders, others just like to get the cash value whilst most of you are happy to donate the money to a charity of out choice (The NAVS) Or another charity of their choice. How does it work?

The process is as follows:

  • Place all handsets regardless of condition in a box (minimum of 10 for a FREE collection)
  • Tape box closed securely
  • Attach address label that will be sent to you by e-mail
  • Leave for pick up at agreed collection point

What happens next?

We will contact you within 48 hours upon receipt of your equipment with a current market valuation. On confirmation a Waste Transfer Note and Duty Of Care Certificate will be issued immediately for your records. Payment will be made by cheque to either your company or as a donation to your nominated charity.

Please contact us should there be any questions you may have,

So lets re cap.

1. Gather as many redundant mobile phones together as you can. Check in draws, cupboards and anywhere else you can think of. They can be working or non working, looking new or broken, faulty or damaged.

2. Gather 10 phones or more together and will arrange a FREE pick up. That's correct, we offer a free collection service for 10 handsets or more. Any less than10 phones can be sent into us for assessment and valuation.

3. Allow 48 hours for the team to assess the value/worth of the (BER) beyond economical repair phones and we will get back to you with a quote.

4. Based on the recovery value of the phones, the price we can offer you will vary. Although not all phones have a recoverable value, we will still always recycle them

Some clients use this as a way of generating an extra source of income for themselves as they gather phones together on a regular basis. Whilst many others choose to donate the buy back phone scheme money back into our charity funds. The choice is yours but as always, charity raising  is hard at the best of times so this is a great chance to donate back to charity in a way that does not effect your pocket directly.

5. We then categorise the phones into groups. Working/non working, salvageable or not. Once we have a box of phones that are tested working and factory reset, they are sent to be used in less fortunate developing countries and they are very grateful for projects like this. Non salvageable phones are recycled.

6. The transaction is complete and the benefit is felt as the phone is disposed of responsibly and recycled without the use of landfill sites.

Postage will have to be paid if an agreed price is not met.

We do not offer anything for batteries, chargers and accessories but we can recycle them safely for you free of charge when sending phones in.

Since finding Phatphones, they have collected 10 or so phones a week from us and we feel better for it too. - Post Office

Satisfied that Phatphones recycle phones in the best possible way, I collect phones from locals and have them collected when I get 8-10 :)
